Corrosion Testing

Corrosion Analysis includes both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The examination will determine the composition of the corrosion products, the base metals and the exposure environment. This data will provide the root cause of corrosion.

Types of corrosion often identified include:

  • pitting
  • galvanic
  • intergranular
  • exfoliation
  • erosion
  • cavitation
  • crevice
  • filiform
  • dissimilar metals
  • selective leaching
  • stress-corrosion cracking (SCC)
  • environmental assisted cracking (EAC)
  • microbial influenced corrosion (MIC). These test cultures can be run to identify various types/classes of microbes.
